Rebuilding corporate reputations
In a recently concluded survey of senior executives accross the globe, McKinsey Quarterly concluded that 85% of those surveyed felt that public trust in business has deteriorated! (Free registration required).
That’s right – 85! It may not be surprising considering the current economic turmoil and some of confidence shaking events that led to it. But even then, this is a seriously high rate! The report summarizes the impact of this succintly -
“Now more than ever, it will be action—not spin—that builds strong reputations.”
I couldn’t agree more with that statement. Given the current scenario and the tug-of-war between the two opposing schools of thought in Outsourcing, executives will need to keep this in mind constantly. This is one of the emerging issues that managers and business leaders will need to learn to tackle deftly.
We need ”outsourcing with conscience”. But more on that subject later.
Until later!
